Email Confirmation: After you have ordered a product(s), we will automatically send you an email confirming that we have received your order.
Order Acceptance: Once we have reviewed the order, including your payment information and product availability, we will let you know via email if there are problems that prevent us from accepting the order.
Out of Stock Items: Because each item is unique, we try to update our inventory on the website frequently to prevent multiple orders for a single item. If, however, multiple orders are placed for a single item, the order from the first buyer will be given priority. Each subsequent buyer for that item will receive an immediate refund. Because each item is unique, it is not possible to place any item on backorder. We will be pleased, though, to help you find a similar item of your choice. Just drop us a note via the Contact Us form.
The French Attic offers antique and vintage items with unique character and signs of age. All products maybe subject to slight variations in colour and size from the images on the website. When you place an order with The French Attic it will be deemed that you have read, understood and agreed to our Terms and Conditions. You can cancel your order at any time prior to shipment.

We use Etsy as our online payment system – because it’s super safe and reliable.
Please note that you do not have to have a Etsy account to place your order – they have a Guest Checkout. Etsy works like any other online payment system – all you need to provide is your billing address and payment details. Having an account you use your credit card or bank account without exposing your account numbers – anywhere you shop.
We use Collect+, Hermes, UPS, Royal Mail, Parcelforce, or other courier service for small packages and parcels. We aim to dispatch your goods within 2-3 working days from receipt of your order, however it may take longer at busy times of the year.
Please note, all delivery prices quoted on our website are for the UK Mainland only. All offshore areas, Scottish Highlands, and Ireland are by negotiation only. Please contact us to discuss before making your order.
The French Attic will endeavour to complete delivery of goods supplied in the UK within 7-10 working days from acceptance of your order subject to stock.
We will try to meet any agreed delivery times, however The French Attic shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages or expenses incurred by you, or any third party, arising from any failure to meet any estimated delivery date.
Delivery of the Goods shall be made to your delivery address specified in the order and you shall make any arrangements necessary to accept delivery. A signature may be required upon delivery.
International shipping is available for some products but should you wish to order from abroad please use the Contact Us form so we can help with your purchase – we will try our best to make it possible!
We encourage you to closely inspect the item photo & description and ask any questions you need to before purchasing anything from The French Attic.
We make every effort to highlight any exceptional wear and tear, but by the nature of the products listed on The French Attic website, many of the products are timeworn with possible imperfections. Please take this into account when deciding to make a purchase.
We endeavour to describe an item as accurately as possible but, if for any reason you are not happy with a purchase when it arrives, we understand that sometimes returns are necessary. Therefore, please notify us in writing within 7 days of receiving the goods. Please email email@example.com with the reason for the refund and the order number it relates to.
We will exchange or refund any item you are not happy with as long as the goods are returned “as new” in original condition with the original packaging. We will not offer any refund, exchange or credit for items that are returned without prior notice or on occasions when contact is made after 7 days.
The items must be returned to us within a further 14 days using an insured delivery service that covers the full cost of the items. Liability for loss or damage during transit lies with the customer. We cannot refund items broken or lost during return transit. The cost of post and packaging will not be refunded unless The French Attic finds that the item was damaged in transportation or determines the product description was inaccurate, misleading, or misrepresented the item.
Once the goods have been returned to The French attic, they will be inspected and we will send you an email to let you know that we have received your returned item. We will then notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If your refund is approved, we will write to you to confirm your return has been processed and you will receive your refund or exchange for a similar item (when in stock) within 14 days of the return being received.
Please note that refunds on items bought as presents can only be given to the original payer and if you decide to exchange the item, we are under no obligation not to tell the payer.
If your item has been damaged in transit, please email us within 24 hours of receiving your item at firstname.lastname@example.org with the reason for the refund, the order number the item is related to and photographs that support your claim, in order to be eligible for a full refund including the cost of the delivery.
